A Little Miss Sunshine Caucus?

It seems the Oscars continue to influence politics in the same incestuous manner that politics influences the Oscars. Now Gore’s day in the limelight precipitated the revelations of his own personal inconvenient truths. Turns out he’s using 20X the energy of the average US household to live the energy consuming high life at his Tennessee abode.

Now the next phase of post-Oscar politics is pursued by none other than that would-be Little Ms Sunshine, Rutnik Gillibrand. She wants to start a Sunshine Caucus, an idea which we applaud in principle.

Unfortunately many agree with us that she’s not quite ready for this role. Rutnik Gillibrand still has a long way to go before she’s truly transparent.

Her sycophants say that the sunshine site she started was for showing with whom she shares space. But when we found out her time (and really this is the 20th district’s time, as she’s their rep) at the beck and call of the peacenik crowd was billed on her coy little “I’m being transparent” page as “Town Hall meeting on Iraq” you can imagine how shocked we were by that spin. Of course we didn’t expect her to say what that meeting really was.

After all, this is the same person who when everyone else was clear and transparent that HR 3 was the bill to allow federal funds to be used to harvest the most defenseless forms of human life for science experiments, soft sold the story on her sad sunshine show site.

The light went dim on January 11th, and then went completely dark when she voted in February against the mission our troops are proudly pursuing.

So here’s a slogan we snagged from somebody slim “You’ve got a long way yet to go, baby.”

Releasing those tax returns would go a long way towards changing many minds.
